The first academic annual Retreat of Life Sciences Institute (LSI), Zhejiang University has been held successfully on Jan 16-17th 2016 in Zijingang Campus. All LSI faculties, students, together with some invited speakers attended this meeting.
Firstly, Director Xin-Hua Feng gave the 2015 LSI Annual Report systemically introduced the progress of LSI in 2015 including faculty recruitment, scientific research, core facilities, graduate program, academic communications, and etc. Dr. Feng also introduced the future plan of LSI in 2016.
At the annual retreat, All PIs in LSI and invited experts presented their latest progresses on various research fields including cancer biology, stem cells and system biology, immunology and infection, and developmental biology. The annual retreat contained four themes with 24 brilliant reports totally.
The first LSI annual retreat intended to summarize the achievement of LSI in 2015, and promote the development of the Institute in future. This retreat provided a platform for exchangingopinions and inspiring new ideas. LSI will continue to organize the annual retreat, and promote communications and collaboration for LSI PIs, students and other peers in life science.
