Prof. Mark Spearing, Vice Chancellor of Southampton University--one of the UK's top ten research universities, and his entourage visited our institute on May 5, 2014.
Director Xin-Hua Feng expressed his warm welcome to the arrival of Vice Chancellor Mark Spearing and Prof. Phil Newland, Associate Dean of College of Natural and Environmental Sciences. Assistant Director Yong Cang briefed the guests on LSI’s overall development and focused on LSI’s achievements in cooperative exchanges and graduate education. Prof. Phil Newland, Associate Dean of College of Natural and Environmental Sciences, also briefly introduced the biological research in Southampton University. Subsequently, the two sides started in-depth communication and discussion on cooperative scientific research, graduate student exchange and other topics. Associate Dean Mark Spearing highly spoke of LSI’s outstanding achievements since its establishment and expressed his willingness to carry out mutually benefit and effective academic cooperation and student exchanges with our institute.
